The installation itself is 60–90 minutes: remove the old glass, clean and prime the pinch weld, install the new glass with urethane adhesive, and inspect the seal. ADAS recalibration, if needed, adds another 30–60 minutes.
In Phoenix's summer heat, cure time is a consideration. Urethane sets faster in high temperatures, but extreme heat (above 105°F) can cause adhesive to cure unevenly. We schedule installations with adequate ventilation and in the cooler morning hours when temperatures are extreme.
Chip repair is faster at 30–45 minutes and is not significantly affected by summer heat. In fact, the warm temperatures help the UV-cure resin flow into the chip more easily.
